Can Christians smoke weed? It’s a question many are asking in today’s culture—especially as marijuana use becomes more normalized. In this message from Pastor Ben Graves, we explore what the Bible says about substances, motives, and surrender in light of 1 Corinthians 6.
The church in Corinth lived in a culture of “do whatever you want,” and Paul’s reminder to them still applies to us today: “I have the right to do anything—but I will not be mastered by anything.”
In this teaching, Pastor Ben breaks down three key questions every believer should ask:
1. Why am I using it? (Motive matters more than action)
2. Can I lay it down today? (What owns me vs. what I own)
3. Am I running from my battles, or walking with Christ through them?
Whether it’s weed, alcohol, or any other coping mechanism, God calls us to find freedom not in substances but in His presence. The invitation of Jesus is clear: “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
This message isn’t just about marijuana—it’s about surrender. It’s about living a life that looks different from the culture around us and experiencing the transformation only Jesus can bring.
