The sin nature is not merely the acts of sin we commit, but a corrupt nature within fallen humanity. The panel explains that when a believer places faith in the finished work of Christ, the sin nature is rendered dormant. However, if faith is shifted away from Christ and His Cross, the sin nature can rise up again and seek to rule. Through His death at Calvary, Christ made it possible for believers to live free from the dominion of the sin nature, bringing victory over acts of sin in our lives.
