Psalm 140 beginning at verse 11, “Let not a slanderer be established in the earth; Let evil hunt the violent man to overthrow him. I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and justice for the poor. Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name; the upright shall dwell in Your presence.”

The increasing public acceptance, and tolerance of evil speech are the hallmarks that of every society is falling into decline. In America today, evil speech is on full display; blatant lying and open cursing are suddenly becoming the norm. As the scripture clearly tells us, the sin of evil speech is a reproach to any nation. It is time for our request to be made known to God. It’s time for our voices to be made known at the throne of God to plead for a return to civility and a knowledge of what is holy.
