This episode of The SitRoom features a discussion with Emily Ekins, Director of Polling for the Cato Institute and Aaron Ginn, Co-Founder of Lincoln Labs and Covid data guru.
Emily Ekins
--- Emily gave us a sneak peek of Cato’s new national poll targeting the impact of the Black Lives Matter, "woke America," the state of free speech, and President Trump's reelection chances.
--- Cato’s new polling is on a written embargo until next week, so we can’t share the results here. Hear the numbers for yourself on today’s SitRoom recording.
--- The poll will be published later this week on Cato’s site (link below), and we’ll be sure to share it with you.
Aaron Ginn
--- Aaron — profiled in the Wall Street Journal as The Lockdown Skeptic They Couldn’t Silence (link below) — argued for more consistency among governors in their approach to lockdowns. Aaron praised Gov. DeSantis for keeping Florida open for business, as many contracting the virus are young, otherwise healthy people.
--- In response to Los Angeles and San Diego shutting down schools through fall, Aaron — who spends his days sifting through coronavirus studies — asserts kids are safe and should be allowed to go back to school.
--- But how do we keep ourselves safe? Aaron believes correlative reasoning (the best we can do for now) supports trying to stay outdoors and keeping distance when possible.
