The Slaughterhouse Chorus - Episode 176

Listen Later

Albany dudes The Slaughterhouse Chorus have been carting their loud, fast, thoroughly American rock and roll to dive bars and barbecues across the nation since 2009, marinating their punk roots in classic rock, honky-tonk country and southern soul. Over the course of the last year and change, the band has toured the eastern U.S. twice, racked up consecutive "Best Local Punk Band" designations in both the Albany Metroland Readers' and Critics' Polls, and unleashed a full-length album and split 7" record on the world. Self-producing their recordings in their home studio (colloquially known as the John Wilkes Sound Booth), the band specializes in boot-stomping singalongs that get political, personal, and downright apocalyptic- "a hell-bound hayride through the heart of America" (Dying Scene.com).
Always committed to the DIY spirit, the Slaughterhouse Chorus is also producing and releasing several albums by Albany's finest independent bands over the course of 2013 on their own Built4BBQ label. The first Built4BBQ sampler, The Appetizer, hit the streets in February 2013, showcasing Henry's Rifle, Charmboy, The End Men, the Pistolwhips, Maggot Brain, Bridge Under Fire and more over the course of 18 tracks. Two more Built4BBQ samplers are slated for later this year, alongside a number of new full-length and EP releases from associated acts.
