For today’s episode, I have an interview I conducted a couple of months ago with Siara-Lauren, a Director and Dp at FSU’s College of Motion Picture Arts. She has also won Best Documentary at this year’s Southern Sunset Undergraduate Film Festival for her film “Reformed and Retweeted.” In the interview, we will be discussing movies, film making, and food. On today’s episode, I had the opportunity to talk to Chayse Banks a director and prospective VFX artist in FSU’s College of Motion Picture Arts. Today you will learn a little more about Chayse, her past works, her awesome sound editing skills, and her current work (her F3). 

William Stead, a director and writer in FSU’s College for Motion Picture Arts, joins us to talk about his documentary “The Flip Side”, his love for filmmaking, music, and more. Since our interview, his documentary has recently been accepted into a UK-based film festival called “Sunscreen”, the Doc’n Roll Film Festival in London, the Tampa Bay Underground Film Festival, and the Brouhaha Film & Video Showcase.

Jorge Pablo Oseguera Gamba and Vivianne Asturizaga Hurtado de Mendoza, the directors of HIGSA’s Cinehassee: Tallahassee Film Festival, discuss the origin of the festival and the movies within it. They also tell us how the movies were chosen and how you too can get involved with HIGSA.

Student filmmaker Adrian Cadavid discusses the issues that inspired his latest short film, his process when starting new projects, and his dedication towards film making. 

In preparation for Opening Night’s presentation of Romeo is Bleeding, part of the Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers, Donte Clark talks about the context of the film, his process as a poet and a teacher, and the future of the city he calls home.

In preparation for Opening Night’s presentation of SCORE: A Film Music Documentary, part of The Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers, Matt Schrader talks about the process of making a documentary of such grand scope, the perceived threats of film scoring, and the common ground that great composers share. The film will be playing at the Askew Student Life Center on Sunday, October 22nd, at 5 PM.

The film programmers, who are in charge of the line up of movies presented every semester in the theater, talk about their perspective, their favorite movies, and reflect on what the ASLC has meant to them now that graduation is upon them.
