What is the good news of Jesus Christ? If you said that Jesus died when He was crucified on a Roman cross, and was buried in a tomb and was raised to life on the third day, you would be correct! That is the gospel. The problem is although that is true, and it is the fundamental doctrine a person should know and believe to be saved, it doesn’t really capture the gravity of what Mathew, Mark, Luke and John wrote about. And it also doesn’t help His disciples to know what it is we are supposed to be doing after we receive salvation. Death is sort of a final deal. Not really good news.
