Publisher's Summary:
Eleven-year-old gumshoe Simon Sez may operate out of a tree house, but this pint-sized shamus is as tough as long division and meaner than an older sister. After Simon's heart is broken by the most beautiful dame on the playground, rich kid Bunky Matthews shows up at his HQ begging for help retrieving two hundred stolen snickerdoodles. Simon figures a new case might be just the ticket to get his mind off his troubles.
But when the exhaustive search for the contraband cookies takes Simon to the wrong side of tracks, he learns some unexpected lessons about life and love.
Johnny Shaw's The Snickerdoodle Kerfuffle is a nostalgic, laugh-out-loud parody of Encyclopedia Brown gone bad.

I really liked the story but the something was wrong with the formatting which resulted in the jumping ahead or dropping back one or two paragraphs when I turned the page (Kindle). This mad reading difficult at times.
Four Stars
Enjoyed, very cute ! Would recommend to friends with kids !
The real Encycopidia Brown
A fast funny read. Shaw captures a true sense of what being a kid is / was. His characters are timeless, much like how Mark Twain made Tom, Huck, & Becky timeless. Hope there are more episodes in the future.
I really like Shaw's style
I have become a fan of this author. This short story was, well, too short- I wanted more. I am currently reading "Dove Hunting" and recently finished reading "Plaster City". I really like Shaw's style.
Outstanding Parody
This was an outstanding parody of both kid detective novels and adult hard-boiled detective novels. There were may laugh out loud moments. It reminded me of the Naked Gun movies where the characters stay serious and oblivious to the humor.
