Spencer Trotter has invented the Anywhere Fridge. It is sustainable refrigeration. The Anywhere Fridge is solar powered to charge the built-in battery during the day to last all night, while remaining fully functional during the day.
Solar Powered Fridge Freezer
Many of you have found this story after watching Solar Powered Fridge Freezer by Off Grid Talk and thought there has to be a better solared powered refrigerator by now. Many have built their own solar powered refrigerator diy style.
Everything starts somewhere and their retrofitted refrigerator comes from running an Avanti (RA3106WT) 3.1 cubic feet refrigerator-freezer off solar power at the off grid cabin. Very low power consumption and great choice for someone who is off the grid. Note: fridge freezer will spike up to 500 watts just for couple seconds then drop to 50-40 watts. That video was great for many reasons, personally I love sustainablity and let’s face it…the refrigerator uses a tremendous amount of energy.
Imagine using this collapsible solar powered refrigerator for camping…ice not needed. How about breaking it out at a picnic, while tailgating, or hiking, even in an emergency. So many uses!
Spencer Trotter has been working on his solar powered refrigerator project for half of his life. Want to know behind how this inventor turned his idea into this solar-powered refrigerator…Anywhere Fridge? This episode is the first in a 2-part series.
Solar Refrigerator…It’s Here!
Solar Refrigerator and Freezers belong Everywhere and the Anywhere Fridge ushers in a revolution of quality and sustainable refrigeration. It is solar powered to charge the built-in battery during the day to last all night, while remaining fully functional during the day. This Solar Refrigerator device is able to sustain functionality on one complete charge for a full night. It can be used indoors and outdoors it has a standard plug-in. The Anywhere Fridge can act as a household and work place refrigerator.
Idea…Solar Refrigerator…Anywhere Fridge
Spencer come from a big family that didn’t have much money and he wanted to help out with bills. He sold candy door to door at thirteen years old. On the warm days the chocolate would melt from the heat. He purchased an ice chest and filled it with ice but as it melted it became messy. Each time he opened the lid, the cooler would lose its cooling effect and that is what gave him the idea.
Spencer imagined creating a solar powered refrigeration unit that was self-sufficient. He knew it would need to be collapsible because he never liked to ride back to his house with a big, bulky cooler. Making it collapsible would make it more portable and ultimately more user-friendly. Spencer really saw the need for it, especially in developing countries, rural areas, and anywhere where there is no electrical power.
The solar refrigerator belongs everywhere. I became very excited the first time I learned about the Anywhere Fridge and wanted to help. So I contacted Spencer Trotter and requested he shares his story with us.
