At some point, most of us will face the so-called “dark night of the soul” — that is, when life has pressed in so hard and yet it seems like the Lord has gone silent. When that happens, Psalm 88 reminds us that this experience is normal, that we should persist in prayer, lean into the church, and remember the gospel.
