35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?……

37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

There are different kinds of wounds - some are inflicted on us out of our control. Some that WE unintentionally caused ourselves. God is able to redeem both!

Hard times often make us question God - where are you? Are you punishing me? Are you mad at me? Did I do something wrong? Why am I going through this?

Have you read a book or watched a movie that ends shockingly bad?

It leaves you in a really bad place. You ask yourself the question, why did it end this way? I didn’t expect this to happen.

Matt 12:40 tells us that Jesus descended to hell, to pay the price for our sins.

But he didn’t stay there! He defeated the power of death, both physically and spiritually.

We’ve been learning to step into our Christ identity, and not allow other identities to take primary place.

- In any of those identities, we are easily pulled into victimhood and bondage.

In this new creation life, your nationality makes no difference, nor your ethnicity, education, nor economic status—they matter nothing. For it is Christ that means everything as he lives in every one of us! 

So freedom comes when we find that we can have a new identity through Jesus Christ.

Now that we know who we are and how to live in that, there’s a second part we need to now dive into that’s just as important.

Who are YOU? How do we see the people around us? What Identity I put on you is as important as the identity I put on myself.

- In any of those identities, we are easily pulled into victimhood and bondage.

Everyone is fighting about identity.

Everybody is being pulled into a tribe and told“this is who you are.”

Our New God identity should supersede every other identity we carry.

But the more people fight to define themselves by these labels, the more divided everything becomes.

- A house divided can’t stand.

We’ve lost the identity we are supposed to carry.

Your identity will determine what you seek after

Our old identity MUST surrender to our new identity.

We need to fully understand the power of walking in our Christ identity.

Our New Identity in Christ contains all the wealth of God’s goodness, that has already been placed in us. We don’t strive to attain it, we strive to understand and rest in it.

Everything we could ever need for life and godliness has already been deposited in us by his divine power. For all this was lavished upon us through the rich experience of knowing him who has called us by name and invited us to come to him through a glorious manifestation of his goodness.

We are in an Identity War today! We’ve lost the identity we are supposed to carry.

There should be NO divisions between us as christians
