The Southern States 200 will be one of only three known Mountain TRAIL, POINT-TO-POINT, 200 mile races in the U.S. The run will follow the Legendary Pinhoti Trail from near Dalton, Georgia to the top of Mt Cheaha, the highest point in Alabama. The run will have 27,628 feet of elevation gain over 201 miles. The course will be fully marked with prismatic reflective flags, ribbons and signs. Runners will have 100 hours to complete the 201 mile journey. There will be 15 full aid stations along the way. Each with have "real food" made-to-order, day and night. Medical personnel will be available at most aid stations. Five of the full aid stations will also be Sleep Stations.
