The Holy Spirit owns the seed and sows it generously; we own the soil. Jesus taught in parables so that those whose hearts were receptive would not only understand the mysteries of God’s kingdom but apply them to every aspect of society. A parable can both reveal and conceal at the same time, depending on the condition of one’s soil (heart receptivity to God’s word).
