When Jesus was at the well with the Samaritan woman, he told her that if she knew who he was she would be asking him for water. The water he spoke of there was the water of the Holy Spirit. This is something he does as a way to introduce us to the Person of the Holy Spirit and introduces him to us in a way that reveals him as the one who makes Baptism the means of salvation.
