THE SPIRIT UPON A BELIEVER
Wednesday 8th June 2022
Any christian life that doesn't involve the person and ministry of the Holy Spirit will be as ordinary as of a man or woman who doesn't know God. Unless you allow the Holy Spirit to have His rightful place, you will continue to live an average life.
Genesis 1:2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
As the Spirit was moving in the darkness, God spoke the word and He (The Holy Spirit) took the word and brought forth light (Genesis 1:3).
Unless we permit the Holy Spirit to flow/move, everything we say, declare, confess, etc will bear no fruit.
Judges 15:14 When he came to Lehi, the Philistines came shouting against him. Then the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him; and the ropes that were on his arms became like flax that is burned with fire, and his bonds broke loose from his hands.
The Philistines were able to bind Samson because the Spirit of the Lord had not yet come upon him. He was like an ordinary man but when the Spirit came upon him, he was dressed with divine ability, and what they bound him with broke loose.
The strength, wisdom, and diverse kinds of advantages because of the Spirit upon begin to flow out of a life of a believer when they understand the ministry of the Holy Spirit. It becomes impossible for them to live an average life.
1 Samuel 16:13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward.
Little David had never fought a battle in his life before. All he knew was to look after the sheep but when the Spirit came upon him, he took that same anointing and brought down the giant without military training (1 Samuel 17).
What the Spirit of the Lord can make a believer who has yielded to Him to achieve will cause men to ask themselves questions.
Mark 6:2 And many hearing Him were astonished, saying, “Where did this Man get these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him, that such mighty works are performed by His hands!
They were talking about Jesus because they did not see Him go to any school but when the time came for Him to bring forth manifestation, they were shocked.
The Spirit of the Lord had come upon Him mightily during baptism and from that day, He was led by the Spirit in whatever He did and wherever He went (John 5:19).
The Holy Spirit equals to ALL THINGS (Matthew 7:9-11, Luke 11:13). If you can permit Him to be who He needs to be in your life, everything will be within your reach.
Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
The disciples were men who had low class. When the Holy Spirit came upon them, Peter who was one of the cowards and had denied Jesus three times spoke with boldness (Acts 2:14-39).
God tied our transformation, revival, and change to the outflow of the Holy Spirit.
Therefore outside Him and His ministry, we will be religious men with good behavior but without power. This explains why we pray and seek God.
Acts 6:4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”
Prayer and the Word are some of the dimensions that release the work of the Holy Spirit into our lives and help us improve our fellowship with Him.
No matter how talented, intelligent or gifted you are, whatever will come out of you will have minimum effect unless you engage the Holy Spirit. He is the difference.
As you pray along with this audio, may you be awakened to the truth of the Holy Spirit and His ministry that you may pursue Him.
