This is truly a masterpiece. I' not saying this is the greatest animated film ever made. But I feel like Spongebob was firing on all cylinders when this move came out, so there was a lot to live up to. Fans would be disappointed if it just felt like a long episode of the show. But you can't make it to fantastical, that it strays far from who the characters fundamentally are.
