I lived on beautiful Honey Lake for many years. The 80-acre lake is spring fed and thus is always pure and clear. There are several other ponds on the property that are not spring fed and when it doesn’t rain for a long period of time these ponds get stagnant and filled with algae. My favorite fishing pond had a 15 inch well adjacent to it and the pure water pumped from the well into the pond was used to refresh it during those tough dry spells. Likewise, I pumped water into a few of the other ponds on the property during long droughts to keep them fresh and vibrant . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2020/02/the-stagnant-pond/
