Episode 1 introduces Leo, a determined ten-year-old in the festive town of Silver Creek. The town's annual Christmas Lighting Ceremony is threatened because the crane needed to place the traditional, massive wooden Star atop the town spruce has broken down. Leo, desperate to save the kickoff to the holiday season, decides to bypass adult solutions. He sneaks into the library, retrieves the heavy Star, and attempts to climb the forty-foot spruce himself to place it at the top before the ceremony concludes. The episode ends on a cliffhanger as Leo is spotted halfway up the tree by a spotlight.
