It's August of 2018 in the town of Mercer, Ohio. Luna's cousin Danny takes a summer job at the Flatrock Reservoir dam, monitoring the water level from a concrete tower that juts out of the lake like a tombstone. The job is easy until he starts hearing whispers in the static of the maintenance radio—a low, metallic voice that speaks in numbers and names. At first he thinks it's a prank. Then the voice tells him about his grandfather's death before the phone even rings. Tonight, Luna tells the story of a boy who listened too long, and what came up from the deep when he answered back. No gore. Just the hum of machinery, the smell of stagnant water, and the creeping certainty that something down there has been waiting for a voice to call its own.
