According to “the flesh” vs. “in the flesh” (Romans 8:1, 2, 8, 9, 10) In Christ, legally, we are not “in the flesh”, but can think and act “like someone we are NOT.” (Romans 7:17-21)

How God sees our legal, NEW Identity in Christ

Galatians 2:20; Colossians 2:12; Ephesians 2:6; Colossians 3:1-3; Romans 6:1-6

We were there! God planned it, saw it, and still sees it that way!!

2 Corinthians 5:21 – The Legal Exchange! (Romans 8:1, 2; Romans 5:1-3)

“Strongholds” (continued)

Criticism, Rejection of authority (can remove blessing, promotion, protection) (See Romans 13:1; 1 Peter 2:13-15; 1 Timothy 2:1-3)

Hurts

Inevitable

Can be opportunities for healing and development or breeding ground for offense and bitterness. (Power or poison)

Tests Love: Our purpose!

Offenses (Matthew 18:7; Luke 17:1)

Hebrews 12:15

✴Hurts and offenses are not the same! Hurts unresolved can become the breeding grounds for offenses, however!

Offenses hinder the operation of the Love of God

Offenses carried turn into “the spirit of offense”

May carry “spirit of offense” if:

Want others “to pay” for their offense. (You still want grace and forgiveness, however.)

Will not accept Hebrews 10:30 – “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay ‘says the Lord’” (What we don’t see is not proof!)

How Do I Deal With Offenses?

Ask the Lord to show you the offense

Ask the Lord to show you how He sees you

Ask the Lord to show you how He sees the offender

“Father forgive them”
