Dr Winitzki is a theoretical physicist now moved into computer programming. He's taken a physics approach to understanding programming from a fundamental perspective. Having authored the book "The Science of Functional Programming" a draft book [0] and "Concurrency in reactions. Declarative multicore programming in Scala" another draft book [1].
