When a sigil begins forming on his skin, he understands he is meant to complete the ritual.
Refusing to become part of the cycle, he destroys the structure binding him to it, triggering the town’s violent collapse. He escapes, but the memory of the grotesque transformation and the ancient force he nearly unleashed continues to haunt him.
