Memories are powerful reminders of the goodness and faithfulness of God. As the children of Israel cross the Jordan River, God has them erect some memorial stones so that they would always remember His work and ways. The Lord knows that without these memorials, we are prone to forget how mightily He has worked in our lives over the years.
