Journalist, Kevin Ferguson, recalls the Irish community in the Catskill Mountains of New York, where he spent his summers.

He recalls: “You felt safe as a child because no one was watching you, but everyone was watching you.  You ate at large family style tables. There was social dancing every night with all ages joining in. A very welcome, nurturing environment.

Kevin’s documentary, Dancing at the Crossroads tells the story of the heyday of Irish immigrants 1950s and 60s, when 40 Irish resorts covered the Catskills. He hopes something of that legacy can endure.
