Iraq and Iran of the early 1900s were going through some seismic changes not only in realising their eventual independence from the Ottoman Empire but in establishing their position in the world.
However, for a young Iranian named Ali Asghar Borujerdi none of that mattered. After his mother moved the whole family from Western Iran to Karbala in Iraq, young Ali would soon realise that being in a different country was the least of his problems. He would soon be confronted by deeply disturbing urges that would propel him to the top of the most feared criminals of that century.
Listen now to learn more about this disturbing case, here on Asia In The Shadows.
