This week on Light It Up, we welcome Christian artist Austin Joyce! Austin Joyce is an up-and-coming Christian artist bringing a new and refreshing sound to the Christian rap genre. He grew up loving creative writing and poetry, but didn’t truly decide to start creating Christian music until his father passed away; leading to 2020, when he released his debut single: Father. Austin is still producing hits such as New Me, Breaking the Mold, and his most recent EP, Hope Restored, four years later. He has accumulated over two million streams with top songs such as Paradox, WAR WITH GOD with Christopher Syncere, and Don’t Let Me Go with Henrik, and it’s such an honor to have him on. This week, we hear his journey of coming to Christ and his start in the music industry! With many intrusive and scary expectations of the reactions and judgment he would receive, it took him a while to muster up the confidence to create music, only deciding to jump in when his father died in 2020.
