Yara means butterfly in Arabic. Most Italians had never heard of the name Yara, but by the end of 2010 all of Italy knew who Yara Gambirasio was. A 13 year old girl, sporty and active with a beautiful smile full of braces, Yara never returned from a quick trip to the nearby Centro Sportivo only 700 meters from her home. Carabinieri and Investigators would embark on an exhaustive search for one man's DNA, genetically screening nearly an entire territory in a search that would include numerous infidelities, illegitimate children and dangerous translation mistakes.An entire country was emotionally invested in finding justice for Yara.
