The Story We're Still Talking About ! Carrie The Musical : Episode 7 of Carrie On My Wayward Son w/ Daniel Honey

Listen Later

LISTENER DISCRETION ADVISED !!!

Daniel and I *finally* watch Carrie : The Musical whilst we hang out for 6 hours on Neptune and talk about it.

We discuss our expectations and hopes for the musical, do some bibliomancy, and contemplate: are we theatre people?  After a break (you won’t even know we took) we come back and talk about our *two* podcast shows and wonder : what will Daniel be up to in December ? Do I know how to sing Old McDonald? You’ll be surprised at the results ! Then, please to enjoy our "Two Podcasting Friends Try Japanese Treats" segment, mentioned in Ep.2 of this series, as Daniel tries the Japanese “beeru” on air whilst we discuss what we think absinthe is.

During intermission Daniel takes the wheel and uses a lot of big words.  We discuss another version of Margret White, the virtues of watching the musical on 2x speed,  The World According to Chris, all while I have amnesia and disconnect from what’s happening,!

When it’s over Daniel sings a bunch, we talk about the irreplaceable Tommy Ross, the cliche of Carrie, discuss (again) if we are indeed watching a horror musical, the legacy of Brian De Palma’s Carrie, elusive thoughts, troubling themes in Stephen King's work, *acting* and more, more, more!

At the very end we give our ratings for our favorite Carrie incarnations, casting choices, memorable moments and more !!!

Come back next week when we discuss the 1952 movie Carrie and don’t forget to check out our Carrie Inspired playlist on Apple Music.
