The student loan crisis has been a constant conversation point over the last decade or so and even more so presidential candidates in this election. There has been a lot of conversation around student loan forgiveness, especially with the surmounting balances leading to affects on the economy. Now federal student loan payments and interest have been on a hiatus since March 2020 and there is still no clarity on how long that will last. The crisis is one that is somewhere in the $1.6 trillion range for federal student loans.
