For some reason, we find it very difficult to accept the fact that we can NOT predict the future.
 
The very nature of human behavior is that of future predictions, based on past experiences. Unfortunately the majority of us tend to predict future events that are out of our control, which is..... well.... Impossible.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you have ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL OVER ANYTHING THE MARKET DOES. So stop trying.

Instead we need to shift our focus onto something we can control and predict the future of our own behaviors and responses to what the market does. 

We need to do nothing more, than continually remain present and respond to CURRENT market conditions and nothing more. 

It really is as simple as that. However, this does not mean it is easy.

Our entire world is created and communicated through language. 

A variety of different languages/ communication techniques allow us to navigate this sometimes chaotic world. But how do we navigate the chaotic world of the charts. 

More so, how do we navigate the chaotic world of our own minds. 

Believe it or not, it is STILL in the form of language. 

We use patterns, shapes, colors and all types of funny lines to communicate with the markets, And for our own minds..... well listen you will hear it. ....... and that is the key.

What is your self-narative, What is the language you use in your own mind? How do you talk about yourself? how do you talk to yourself? are you kind? forgiving? inquisitive?, demanding?

Listen the language you use, it may be the very thing that makes or breaks you as a trader.

It may seem strange, but the power of 1% is probably the most powerful concept I have come across.

Unfortunately it is also the one lesson that I continuously let slip my mind.

In short the small things that are extremely easy to do, are also extremely easy not to do, which is why the most of us choose not to do them.

However if we can find the discipline to consistently do the small 1% things, our results become astronomically better. 

James clear, in his book atomic habits, talks about getting 1% better every day, resulting in being 37x better at the end of the year.

This is my reminder to you, to look at your life and list out all the 1% activities you are choosing not do, and to think about how much better your life would be if you actually did those tings.

As we develop in any skill, 

We WILL have highs and lows. the thing that makes successful people successful is there ability to recognize both times and to understand that both our highs and lows will pass and that nothing is permanent.

Armed with this knowledge, you are now able to look into both the highs and lows with a mindset that is known to be temporary. 

This allows you to choose if you will be humble in your victories, if you will pity yourself during your lows, or take lessons and grow.

At the end of the day, life is a never ending journey of growth, excitement and struggles with the one consistent being your ability to chose your response to any situation. 

We can not control much in life, but we can control how we respond in  any given situation and our behavior. choose to learn, choose to grow and choose to never surrender, even when times look bleak. 

I can NOT believe this is EP 150. I am beyond grateful and astounded that we have made it this far. 

The Success Shift truly is a testament to the power of showing up and just being consistent. I really had no intention behind this show when I first started other than just sharing my story, growth and struggles and I truly feel I have done that. 

However, after speaking with some more of my students its apparent that I haven't been as transparent as I thought I was being ......

So in episode 150 I decided it's time to really strip it back and explain how my success has not come without failure, struggle and tears.

In todays episode I discuss the true struggles I have faced, the challenges I have overcome and the times I HAVE ALMOST QUIT. 


if there is any one thing I want you to take away from this episode it is this. ...

The only reason I believe I am where I am, is because I have simply gotten up one more time than most others, Failure is part of the experience, learn to embrace it and keep getting up no matter how hard the struggle and YOU WILL SEE SUCCES.

Lets be honest.

Staying in control and keeping on top of things is pretty easy when things are going smoothly, but what happens when it all turns to shit. .
