Here we are for another great week my lovely people!
Have you ever found yourself uncomfortable with a decision you have already made?
I know I have been there…
You see my husband and I decided to be a little crazy once upon a time and try to sell a house, have a baby, buy a house and then move into that new house all in the space of 1 week….
In the midst of that week, some things happened that made us question whether we should close on the new house.
But…we had already sold the old house…
And we had a newborn with a 3-year-old…
And we had movers scheduled to come in 3 days and we had to be out of the house in 5 days…
With absolutely no idea where else we would go if we DIDN’T close on the new house…
So…we decided we sort of HAD to go ahead and close on the new house so that we wouldn’t be homeless in 5 days.
Sounds crazy right?
With the benefit of hindsight, it WAS crazy and we should not have closed on the new house.
In the moment though, we didn’t really feel safe to change our mind.
To many plans had been set in motion to change at that last moment of discomfort.
Or so we thought.
This feeling is known as the sunk cost fallacy and it often affects decisions we make in a negative way.
So, on today’s episode I am going to give you some tools I have developed and arm my clients with in order to get yourself back to emotional neutrality when you might be having those sunk cost emotions.
