Barnaby gave Jimmy a clear warning through deadly intimidation that what he thought he heard about mutiny, he should just forget for his own good.  Clark knows something is not quite right but is playing along with hope of getting to the truth.  Commentary on the introduction of an African American character and how the writers who, with no ill intentions, managed to conceive the worst racist stereotypes imaginable.
