The SUR Files #19 - Guilt Tripping
This week on The SUR Files, Joshie Lopez breaks down The Valley Season 3, Episode 17 – "Guilt Tripping," as relationships are put to the test and long-simmering tensions finally begin to boil over.
This week's episode follows Michelle and Jesse Lally as they officially sign their divorce papers, bringing an emotional end to one chapter while committing to co-parenting their daughter together. Meanwhile, Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick begin couples therapy, where difficult conversations about their future, marriage, and the challenges they've faced since becoming parents leave both of them questioning what's next for their relationship.
Elsewhere, Zack Wickham and Benji Quach face a major crossroads as they struggle to get on the same page about marriage, children, and Benji's immigration situation. Back at the now-infamous Encino Chili's, another group lunch quickly turns tense as Brittany and Zack clash over Danny's behavior, Janet's lingering resentment resurfaces, and old wounds are reopened. Later, Kristen drops a bombshell by suggesting that Nia has been guilt-tripping Zack, setting off another round of speculation and shifting alliances within the group.
Joshie also breaks down Tom Schwartz's outing on the floating tiki boat with Michelle, Lala, and Kiana, the conversations surrounding Janet's past trauma, and whether this friend group is any closer to finding common ground as the season races toward its dramatic conclusion.
