“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.” - Rumi
This episode is all about Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12 - Responsible Production and Consumption.
Worldwide consumption and production — a driving force of the global economy — rests on the use of the natural environment and resources in a way that continues to have destructive impacts on the planet. In this episode we focus on how to make our consumption and production habits more sustainable. We interview Galia Orme, founder of sustainable cacao company CHOC CHICK, about how she has put sustainability and human rights at the heart of every stage of her business. And we speak to Kate McAllister, Principal of The Hive School and Co-Founder of The Human Hive about the Regenerative Strategy at The Hive.
Galia Orme took her passion for chocolate and founded CHOC CHICK, offering organic raw cacao ingredients, superfood cacao blends, raw chocolate making kits and cacao snacks in over 600 stores worldwide. All CHOC CHICK ingredients are sourced ethically and directly from cooperatives in Ecuador and Peru which Galia has personally visited and developed close relationships with.
CHOC CHICK organic cacao products can be found online and in over 600 retailers throughout the UK and in over 200 international retailers including; Ocado, Asda, Holland & Barrett (UK, Ireland, Benelux and Sweden), Whole Foods Market UK, Sourced Market, John Lewis Foods Halls, Selfridges, Amnesty International, Eden Project, Mega Mart (UAE), Spinneys (Dubai), Jones the Grocer (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore).
