Time of Their Lives

The Swim

Listen Later

Les Roches alumnus Chris Astill-Smith is a man on a mission – to raise a fortune for charity. And in typical ‘action man’ style he decides upon one of the most high profile – but dangerous – ways to do this: swimming the English Channel.

Want to know how tough a challenge this is? Only around one in five of all Channel swim attempts are successful. More people have reached the summit of Mount Everest than have successfully swum across the 21 nautical miles between England and France. And 10 swimmers are known to have died in the attempt.

If you want to experience a Channel swim without getting wet, this episode of our new podcast series is your perfect excuse to grab a coffee, sit back and be enthralled…
