Life returns to normal for Kalen and Kade after their adventure with Princess Laetha. But then the queen dies in childbirth and the country is left without an heir, soldiers begin disappearing in the forest on the far side of Gorin, and people fear the dragon has returned. Kalen wants nothing to do with any of it, until his father insists he might be the only one who really can defeat the dragon.
