The SydeCast

The gang is back this week and we’re here to ask some questions: is GTA 6 ever coming out, and when it does, where will consumers land on the scope of disappointment? Do game developers/designers/producers set themselves up for failure based on their reputation alone? Is the Steam Machine going to end the fake console war that no one has cared about since the 90s? And can we afford it? Will PS5 players begrudgingly become part of the PC community? And finally - why in the world are we sometimes accidentally purchasing AI art? We try to find answers, but when we can’t, you can count on us for this - we will find laughs and nearly pee our pants. Maybe that was just Rachel. Definitely maybe.

The gang is back again this week with conversations about how our hobbies evolve as we do as people, super imposing faces on draft dodgers, and why it's so frustrating when some of our favorite fandoms end up exploited in the name of harming marginalized communities. Have any of you even played Halo? Heard of it? We may be all adjusting our glasses and saying, "Actually...." but we think it really matters in times like this. Also, somehow pasta again. Also also, Drew owns every Labubu. You can quote us on that

The gang is in the exact same place they have always been and you shouldn't at all be surprised by that. We discuss the state of Lorcana meta and Pokemon TCG, why we always love film adaptations of video games (cough nah), and the importance of keeping video games fresh with new takes and formats, even if it deviates from what we know and love. Also, again, we are definitely all in the same place for this episode and nothing is new - at all. Also, eat your pasta in a mug. Trust us on that.

THE GANG IS BACK! This week we discuss the untimely and unwanted pause of the cast, what we’ve generally been up to, and why things like GamePass and Sony subscriptions can inadvertently negatively impact their intended audience - as well as the business providing them. We also talk about tough choices in video games, and how we make them. Also, Drew is definitely not a time traveler. Or maybe he is. We’ll let you decide (hint, he is).

Tremayne- @tremaynelaughs
Ron- @rsantorovoice
Rachel-@resles
Drew- @drewtildeath

This week, the gang dives into the new Gundam TCG, the release of the most questionably named Pokemon set, and announces their GOAT of the Week: Stephen Colbert. Conversely, they discuss all the ways Pokemon TCG Live continues to break their hearts but hopefully never their wallets. They explore the reality that the love of certain hobbies ebbs and flows, and the fact that owning shiny cardboard is Ron's entire personality. Also, Drew never once opened his can of Liquid Death early. He would never do that. (edited)

The gang discusses their feelings on the new Superman flick, the ramifications of losing an icon in the nerd space, and, FINALLY - Ron and Rachel are playing Expedition 33. Don't worry, that topic was only discussed for about 3 to 30 minutes. They dive into the how and why of Pokemon Go's success, and what makes it stand out as the shining star amongst the myriad of mobile games. Also, there's a GOAT statue now (debatable, could be a donkey), somehow Tech Decks, and Ron might need new JNCOs.

The gang discusses the emotional attachments they have to games, that "I'm not ready to beat the game yet" feeling, Ron's trip to Disney, and the loss of magic in the mundane. We also discuss what we've been playing and watching lately - which includes another conversation about Expedition 33. We want to be sorry about that, but we're really kind of not. Also, the fact that Drew is only friends with people who have a name that start with J - along his soon to be blossoming friendship with Jelizabeth.

The gang discusses the Nintendo Heist of 2025, Marathon’s indefinite delay, the soul-crushing and/or glee-filled experience of difficult games, and the new Donkey Kong release. We explore the relevance of Mario’s academic credentials, and question the impending moral conundrums Spider-Man is likely to endure. Also, Rachel and Tremayne are definitely getting canceled for their controversial opinions on The Legend of Zelda and Sinners.

The gang discusses some of what we’re playing lately, the “must plays” of video gaming regardless of whether it’s your first game or your four thousandth, guilty pleasures, and our likely 100% accurate GOTY predictions. We also almost cry more than once and discuss the importance of pronunciation.
