Dear you…
I know choosing yourself still feels a little uncomfortable.
For so long, you’ve been the person who shows up.
The person who understands.
The person who gives another chance.
The person who says…
“It’s okay.”
Even when it really wasn’t.
You learned how to make room for everybody else, and somewhere along the way…
you forgot to leave some room for yourself.
So now when you say no, you feel guilty.
When you protect your time, you wonder if you’re being selfish.
When you finally put yourself first, part of you still feels like you’ve done something wrong.
But listen:
Choosing yourself doesn’t mean you stopped caring about everybody else. It means you finally realized you matter too.
You can be a good person and have boundaries.
You can love somebody and still say, “I can’t keep doing this.”
You can care about someone’s feelings without making their feelings your responsibility.
And sometimes, choosing yourself means accepting that somebody might be disappointed with the version of you that finally stopped abandoning themselves to keep everybody else comfortable.
Your peace deserves protection.
Your time has value.
Your needs deserve a voice.
And your life belongs to you too.
Because maybe the person you’ve been forgetting to show up for…
has been you. 💌
