The Tablet of Cebes [ελ]

Listen Later

In this episode of Reconstructed, we narrate the first dozen sections of The Tablet of Cebes, a philosophical inquiry into what constitutes good and evil in life. Cebes did not philosophize in the style of Aristotle but, instead, through stories and myths and dialogues. This particular piece entails a conversation between an elder and a foreigner inside a temple dedicated to Kronos; the former explains to the latter the meaning of a peculiar tablet and its inscriptions. ****** Thanks for listening to Reconstructed.
