This episode includes the short chapter 7 and the longer chapter 8. Jaufre continues on his search for Taulat de Rogimon, having left the castle of Monbrun in the middle of the night. Although he has fallen in love with the beautiful Brunissen, he is terrified by the apparently irrational violent grief and mourning that he has witnessed, and asking about it simply seems to exacerbate the anger of the mourners. Now he is once again trying to find Taulat, and he encounters some extremely friendly and welcoming people along the way.
