The Targeting of a Jewish Community Center and Murder of a Postal Worker

Listen Later

On August 10, 1999, Buford Furrow Jr. drove from Washington state to the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles, where he opened fire with a semi-automatic weapon at a Jewish Community Center, injuring five people, including four children. He then drove to a nearby synagogue, where he shot and killed a Filipino-American postal worker, before fleeing the scene.
