Nothing shouted out to me in this book
It didn't seem to end, more like it just quit. It was as stated, only a taste of what could have been a very interesting story
The trouble with belonging and not belonging...
McWatt has once again captured with beautiful prose the complications around belonging and not belonging -- to places and to people. Her subtle yet heart-wrenching observations can make the reader cringe, often in recognition of having experienced the same rejection, or perhaps the hesitation, to truly connect and commit with consequence. The unreal reality of Ned Time is brilliant. We have all lived in Ned Time at some point in our lives...
What marmalade?
this was not my favorite book to read...Far from it. very jerky. thought after thought was introduced with no warning without even finishing the first thought. wouldn't really recommend this to one single soul.
Love the title
It just got started when it was suddenly over. Had I browsed the book in a book store I might have had a head's up that it was a short story.
Author is a good writer, just give us more.
Wasn't my type reading
This book was more like a short story in a magazine. It jumped around and then ended.
The character was weak and childish. Sorry, but I can't say this way an enjoyable read.
