As former head of the education service at Simmering prison and in the future of a prison for juveniles in Vienna, Austria, Karin Ohrner has to find ways to convince prison governors and staff why education in prison is so important for a successful reinsertion of people released from prison. She still sees a lot of potential to improve the position of education in the Austrian penitentiary system.
