Not only are these our guidelines, but living documents so we as believers may spend all eternity with Him. The 8th commandment teaches us that obtaining gain by ungodly means is evil. The 9th commandment Thou shall not bear false witness. This means do not tell a lie. The 10th commandment, you shall not covet means to want something that belongs to someone else. The central theme of the 10 Commandments can be summed up in the word love, love for God and love for others. The 10 Commandments us believers with a “code of conduct”.
