The TGCG coaches chatted with Robert “Poppy” Ellis, a Marine
Corps Veteran. His military background includes, 9 years on active duty, 3 combat deployments as a fire team/squad leader and 1 deployment to Australia as a Scout Sniper Team Leader. We talked with him about his most memorable moments and how his experience affected his mental health and relationships with friends and family after returning from combat. He completely blew us away with the revelation that he received a combat action ribbon and purple heart! What an honor…and so humbling for us to hear.
He is prior law enforcement, a brother, son, father and uncle. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to spend time with him.
