God sent Nathan to expose David. David repented and was reconnected to God. Nathan did not build a ministry around the exposure. He simply said what God told him and moved on. 

Are we doing too much with these exposure ministries? Accountability is important. But, are we condemning people who God has forgiven? 

In Luke 18, Jesus gives a parable about an unjust judge who grants a woman's request simply because she was persistent in her petitioning. The purpose of the parable is to show the importance of prayer. But what happens when people who claim to follow Jesus don't see the value in prayer, and so they, therefore, don't pray? In this episode, we delve into how prayer, and the lack thereof, impacts the Church. 

Deuteronomy 6:5 tells us to love The Lord with our whole hearts, all of our souls, and with all of our strength. Jesus gives us insight into what it means to give up everything in pursuit of His perfect way, which leads to the Father, in Matthew 10. But what does it all mean?

In Luke 5, Jesus calls Simon Peter, James, and John to be His disciples. In Luke 19, Jesus invites Zacchaeus to receive the gift of salvation through repentance. In both of these instances, those who were called answered and acted out of obedience. We, too, should answer Jesus with obedience every time He calls. 

Church scandals and leadership failings can weigh heavy on your spirit if you stare at the problem without applying a solution. What is the solution? The scriptures. Let's look at 1 Corinthians 9, where Paul's decision to give up his rights to better minister the Gospel of Jesus can help us understand the urgency of our callings. 

In 1 Samuel 16, God told Samuel to stop mourning over Saul and find the next king of Israel. Samuel expressed fear of being killed by Saul since he was a wicked ruler. 

How many of us refuse to let go of people, places, and things that God has rejected? It's time to stop living in fear of what could happen and start abiding in the presence of God. It's time to stop mourning over Saul. 

In 1 Samuel, we read about Hannah who was unable to have children. She was so distressed by her condition that she stopped eating. Instead of turning away from God and trying to figure things out on her own, Hannah took her request straight to the One who could do something about her situation. She also kept her promise after God granted her request, and Hannah refused to embrace offense when Eli, the priest, accused her of drunkenness. These are a few lessons we can take away from Hannah's incredible story of faith and resilience. 

In John 21:15-17, Jesus invites Simon Peter to “feed” his lambs and sheep. It is believed that such an invitation is Jesus calling his disciple to pastor future followers of the Way. Nowhere in these passages does Jesus mention the betrayal of Simon Peter. Instead, The Lord reminds his disciple of the initial call and commissions Simon Peter to walk it out.
