  • ATD #24 - Identity Performance (pt. 2)

I remembered I had a podcast again and decided to make another episode. This is an old topic, but still a good one: Identity Performance (or Dramaturgy). This time, I'm smarter and more maniacal by one whole year.

I talk about three major sections of identity performance: how others receive/interpret the impression you give, the impression you give to other people, and your impression of your own performance. Enjoy!

  • Episode 7 - The Turkic Episode (or the Greatest Story Ever Told)

(The actual episode starts at 4:30)

Hello, dear listeners. After roughly a year without a real podcast episode, I come before you with the longest episode in Thinking Lounge history: the Turkic Episode. This isn't the episode you want, but it is certainly the episode you NEED! I am joined with my good friend Alisdair and in it, he discusses all things Turkic. From Turkic culture, to the Ottoman Empire, to modern Turkic scholars. This is about as niche as you can get when it comes to podcast episodes. I highly advise you listen to this as it is definitely the best episode ever.

  • ATD #23 - The Human Condition

I take a stab at the human condition. In this, I talk about evil, humanity, complexities, mental health, and what it means to be a human being. It's very...esoteric, I believe. A lot of what I said may or may not resonate with you personally, but I'd still recommend giving it a listen. If nothing else, I can at least tell you how I feel about all of this.

Personally one of my favorite ATD's I've recorded.

  • ATD #21 - Why Ain't We Authentic?

Today, I decided I'd try to answer why it feels like we aren't genuine anymore in the most genuine way possible. I claim that it is because our culture is one of slop, irony, and fear. This is definitely one of the better ATDs I've dropped so far (top 3 imo). Give it a listen if any of this sounds remotely interesting.

  • ATD #20 - Do you have aura?

Once again, I've decided to do another episode on aura. This time, I question what it means to have aura and if YOU (yes, you) have aura at all. Give it a listen if you're thinking about your aura. Or if you just wanna listen to something interesting.

  • ATD #19 - Being Decent is Easy

A less esoteric and thought out episode today. I kinda rant about why we aren't decent anymore and why that sucks. Also, I have two guests on this episode too! So, you should definitely listen to it.

  • ATD #18 - Your Sense of Self

Even though school's starting back up, I'm still here doing ATD. We're gonna be consistent. For today's episode, I talk about things like peer pressure, knowing yourself, individuality, and other things along that line. I'm sure most of you all can apply this to yourself, so I hope you enjoy it!

  • ATD #17 - Rules of Game

Essentially, it's the rizz episode all over again. If you're here for advice, a laugh, or for some insight into my brain, you'll enjoy my 26 rules of game.

  • ATD #16 - Identity Performance

In today's episode, I decided I'd take a shot at psychology. I talk about the idea of being a performer in society, the logic behind performance, and the portrayal of self in regards to love. There's a lot more content packed into this episode since this isn't something I randomly made up. A lot of my research was came from the book The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life by Erving Goffman, so go check it out if you want an in-depth analysis on the ideas. Anyways, hope you enjoy!

Not quite wise, yet not quite ignorant. A place where you can listen to someone analyze random stuff, occasionally saying something thought-provoking every so often. Hopefully, you'll enjoy your time…
