Today, it is normal for a country to take regular censuses of its citizens. However, in the Old Testament King David took a census against God's will, and was punished for it. This sermon looks at 2 Samuel 24 in three parts. It considers the theological point that the sin of self sufficiency robs God of his deserved glory and provokes his displeasure.
