For the past few days, I’ve shared about the Thought Leader Messaging Equation. The first part of the equation is T for Time. That brings us to the second part of the equation, which is I for Interest.
How interested are you in sharing what’s going on in your industry?
More importantly, how interested is your audience, your target Market, in the type of content and topics you’re sharing?
There’s a good chance you’re excited to talk about the latest news, breakthroughs, controversies, and share your thoughts.
On the other hand, let’s be honest: there are a number of industries that are boring. They’re just not that sexy.
Maybe that’s your area of expertise, whether it’s a highly technical industry that highly niched or a very thankless industry that people have a hard time getting excited about.
Personally, I love working with clients in what people say are the ‘boring’ industries because it’s a huge opportunity to connect with the people who are actually interested in your topics.
The quality of your content is determined by how interested you are in your topic AND how interesting you can make your content to your audience.
Tomorrow, I’ll share some ideas about how to make your content more interesting in a way that fits your personality and what your audience wants to see from you.
For today though, enjoy the freedom to create any type of content you want and that we have the technology available to connect with our audiences in more ways than ever.
