Everyone is saying “the body keeps the score.” The science is real: stress and trauma leave a physical mark, and OCD is some of the clearest proof there is.

But, there’s a half of this conversation almost nobody is having. Scripture said the body keeps the score first, and it says something the wellness world can’t: the score isn’t the final word. This is the story of what my OCD taught me about the brain, the body, and a God who made both and took one on.

Hi.👋 I’m Emily, and I have a brain that will not sit still.

One minute I’m in the neuroscience of how the mind rewires itself. The next it’s midnight and I’m three hours into something that pricked my heart and would not let go. I was raised at a table where no topic was off limits, and apparently that ruined me in the best way.

So here is what I’m building…

The Thought Vault is a podcast about everything I cannot stop thinking about. God and the nervous system. Purpose and relationships. Motherhood. What theologians and neuroscientists each say about the same problem. Stewardship of our bodies and everything else God hands us. The things happening in our culture that challenge our beliefs and sometimes our peace.

And yes. Probably politics.

Faith at the foundation. Curiosity about everything else. Nothing is off the table, because the foundation does not move.

I want the conversations that are actually interesting. The kind you are still turning over three days later. Some episodes go deep into the research or fringe topic. Some hold a piece of the culture up to the light. Some are one thought I cannot shake at 1am. Some are the honest, unfinished truth about my life, stories, and more.
